We enabable data sharing

Agronod is the company behind the national data platform for sharing agricultural data.

Here, Swedish farmers and the industry can choose to collect and share data – on the farmer’s terms. The farmer chooses what data to share, to whom and for what purpose. With the platform as a foundation, it will be easier to create solutions that strengthen Swedish agriculture. One example of this is the climate calculation tool Agrosfär, which retrieves data from the Agronod platform.

Agriculture is currently undergoing a digital transformation. This advancement introduces complex challenges in terms of data privacy, security and transparency. To fully leverage the benefits of this digitalization, creating a platform for effective data sharing is essential.

Our platform breaks entirely new ground. By establishing a robust and secure infrastructure, we enable large-scale data sharing – without compromising privacy or security.

We give Swedish farmers full control over their data, while also enabling the development of new applications based on data from the platform. A prime example is our climate calculation application Agrosfär, which simplifies how to measure and report the agricultural sector's carbon footprint.

When the entire agricultural ecosystem engages in data sharing, it profoundly transforms the sector. This collaborative approach not only enhance sustainability, but also fosters deeper collaboration, sparks innovation and drive collective progress across the agricultural value chain.

Our infrastructure

On the Agronod platform we collect, structure, quality-assure and harmonize data from various sources. The platform manages data protection, privacy and legal consents, which are crucial for data sharing.

To ensure high standards for security and compliance, the Agronod data platform is entirely based on container technology. All data handled and stored on the platform is managed and kept within Sweden. The flow of data to and from the platform is controlled entirely by the farmer's consent for data sharing.

Our mission

  • Give Swedish farmers control and ownership of their data.

  • Reduce the administrative burden of farm data and enhance data quality.

  • Enable new solutions that strengthen Swedish agriculture and food production.

The platform, as well as the climate calculation tool Agrosfär, is developed with support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

The company Agronod is jointly owned by Lantmännen, Växa, LRF, Hushållningssällskapet, Arla Sweden and Scan Sweden.
